Available Positions and Salary Packages

1. Manager (Space Science / Astrophysics / Astronomy / Astrodynamics) – PPS 8

Salary: PKR 218,750 per month
Qualification:

  • MSc in Space Science, Astrophysics, Astronomy, or Astrodynamics with 1st Division

  • OR PhD in relevant discipline

Experience:

  • 6 years (for MSc holders)

  • No experience required for PhD holders

Job Location: Islamabad
Key Responsibilities:

  • Astronomical data handling (photometry, astrometry)

  • Scientific programming (Python, Java, C++, PyRAF)

  • Robotic telescope operations

  • Sky surveys and observational research

2. Assistant Manager (Space Science / Physics) – PPS 7

Salary: PKR 157,500 per month
Qualification:

  • BS, MSc, MS, or MPhil in Space Science or Physics

  • Specialization in Astronomy or Astrophysics will be preferred

Experience: Relevant field experience preferred
Job Locations: Islamabad, Skardu, Gilgit, Karachi
Responsibilities:

  • Observational research

  • Orbit analysis using STK and Gpredict

  • Satellite and sky data analysis

3. Assistant Manager (Computer Science / Software Engineering) – PPS 7

Salary: PKR 157,500 per month
Qualification:

  • BS, MSc, MS, or MPhil in Computer Science or Software Engineering

  • Specialization in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Data pipeline development

  • Model training and simulations

  • System optimization and big data handling

Job Location: Islamabad

4. Sub Engineer (Electronics / Mechanical) – PPS 4

Salary: PKR 52,500 per month

Qualification:

  • B.Tech (Pass) in Electronics or Mechanical

  • OR 3 years DAE in Electronics or Mechanical (1st Division)

Experience:

  • 5 years relevant experience (B.Tech)

  • 9 years relevant experience (DAE)

Job Locations: Skardu, Gilgit, Karachi
Responsibilities:

  • System maintenance

  • Testing and troubleshooting

5. Technician I (Electronics / Mechanical) – PPS 3

Salary: PKR 43,750 per month

Qualification:

  • DAE in Electronics or Mechanical with 1st Division from recognized institute

Experience: Relevant technical experience required
Responsibilities:

  • Equipment maintenance

  • Programming support (Python, C++, Java)

6. Computer Operator (Information Technology) – PPS 3

Salary: PKR 43,750 per month

Qualification:

  • BSc (Physics, Math, Statistics, Economics), BCS, or BIT with 1st Division

  • Typing speed 10,000 key depressions per hour

  • OR DAE in Computer IT, Software Technology, Electronics, or Electrical

Responsibilities:

  • Hardware and software support

  • Database management

  • Programming support

Job Location: Islamabad

General Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum age: 18 years

  • Maximum age: 35 years (relaxation possible for specialized experience)

  • Only one second division allowed in entire academic career

  • No third division allowed

  • Final degree requirement

    • CGPA 3.0 for PPS 7 and PPS 8 posts

    • Minimum 60 percent marks for PPS 3 and PPS 4 posts

Important Instructions

  • Posts are temporary but likely to continue for an indefinite period

  • Government employees must apply through proper channel and submit NOC at interview

  • Candidates can apply for one post only

  • No TA or DA will be admissible for test or interview

  • Shortlisting will be based on merit, grades, and relevant experience
