Pakistan Marine Academy (PMA) has announced admissions for the 65th Batch of Nautical (Deck) and Marine Engineering Cadets for Academic Session 2027–28. This is a prestigious opportunity for young Pakistani males to join the Merchant Navy, receive world-class maritime training, and earn an internationally recognized qualification. The last date to submit the application form is July 23, 2026, and the NTS Entrance Test will be held on August 9, 2026 (Sunday).

A total of 150 seats are available — 75 for Nautical (Deck) and 75 for Engineering. This admission is open to unmarried male citizens of Pakistan who have passed F.Sc Pre-Engineering or A-Level with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.

Eligibility Conditions

  • Unmarried male citizen of Pakistan.
  • Age not more than 20 years as of December 31, 2026.
  • Age limit for candidates from FATA / Gilgit Baltistan / AJK / Balochistan: not more than 21 years as of December 31, 2026 (one year age relaxation).

Academic Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed F.Sc Pre-Engineering or A-Level with subjects: Maths, Physics & Chemistry — with at least 55% marks.
  • Candidates of O/A Level must submit an Equivalency Certificate (separate certificate for “O” Level and “A” Level) along with the application.
  • F.Sc / A Level Part-II appearing candidates with at least 60% marks in Part-I can also apply. However, they must provide a Hope Certificate from the head of their college / institute.
  • If a candidate fails to attain 55% marks in F.Sc after providing a Hope Certificate, they will be disqualified at any stage of the selection process and discharged during training.
  • If an A Level candidate fails to submit the Equivalency Certificate within the stipulated time / due date, they will not be considered for further stages of selection.

Selection Procedure – 4 Stages

The provisional selection is based on the following 4 compulsory stages. A candidate must qualify each stage to proceed to the next:

  1. NTS / Entrance Test – Minimum 50% marks required to qualify.
  2. Medical Fitness – Conducted at designated Army / Navy Hospitals.
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Standards are as follows:

  1. Interview – Only PET-qualified candidates will be called for interview.

Provisional selection will be done in order of merit based on: F.Sc / A Level percentage, Entrance Test marks, Medical Fitness, PET standard, and Interview performance.

Note: Interview and PET dates will be updated on the PMA website and communicated via SMS.


MMD Eye Vision & Colour Perception Test

  • After joining PMA, all candidates will appear before MMD for eye vision and colour perception test.
  • Admission will only be confirmed upon qualifying the MMD Eye Vision and Colour Perception Tests.
  • MMD Failures will be returned home and their provisional admission will stand cancelled.
  • Candidates declared COLOUR BLIND are not eligible.

Education & Training

  • 2 years residential training conducted at PMA, Karachi.
  • ✅ Upon completion, award of Associate Degree in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
  • ✅ Certificates of International Maritime Organization (IMO) recognized Pre-Sea Mandatory Courses.

Ineligibility Criteria – Who Cannot Apply

  • ❌ Candidates submitting tampered academic certificates / marksheets / documents.
  • ❌ Concealment of information or providing false information in the application form.
  • ❌ Candidates withdrawn from any academy / training institution including Armed Forces on disciplinary grounds or on weak academic performance.
  • ❌ Dismissed / Removed / Debarred / Resigned from Government Service including Armed Forces.
  • ❌ Convicted by a court of law for an offence involving moral turpitude or any other offence.
  • ❌ Non-combination of subjects and Diploma holders (DAE) are not eligible.
  • ❌ Declared medically unfit by an Armed Forces hospital / Appeal Medical Board.
  • ❌ Candidates declared COLOUR BLIND.

  2. Prepare a Pay Order / Bank Draft of Rs. 4,000/- in favour of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi from National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), PMA Branch Code-0239. (PO/DD from any bank is also acceptable.)
  3. Attach all required academic documents, CNIC / Form-B, and passport-size photographs.
  4. Submit the completed application form through Courier Services along with the Pay Order / Bank Draft.
  5. Submit before the last date: July 23, 2026.
