Pakistan Railways Jobs 2025–26 for Assistant Driver BPS-09 Apply Online
Pakistan Railways has announced Situation Vacant for the recruitment of Assistant Driver (BPS-09) on a purely contract basis. Applications are invited from male citizens of Pakistan who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. This is a major government job opportunity for candidates holding Matric, DAE, FSc, or ICS qualifications and seeking a stable career in the public sector.
A total of 417 vacancies have been announced across different railway divisions of Pakistan. Selection will be made through a written test and interview, followed by medical examination, security clearance, and mandatory training.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must fulfill any one of the following qualification criteria.
Matric (Second Division) with Science along with three years DAE (Second Division) in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Information Technology, or Automobile
FSc Pre Engineering (Second Division) with three months computer course from a recognized institute
Intermediate in Computer Science (ICS) with Second Division
Candidates whose final transcripts have not been issued are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit and Relaxation
Basic Age Limit: 18 to 25 years
General Age Relaxation: 5 years
Additional age relaxation is available as per government rules.
Scheduled Castes, Buddhist Community, Sindh Rural, Balochistan, Tribal Areas, Azad Kashmir, Northern Areas, additional 3 years
Ex Servicemen, up to 15 years or actual service period, whichever is less
Government servants or contract employees with two years continuous service, relaxation up to age 55
Son of deceased civil servant, additional 5 years
Only one category of age relaxation can be claimed.
Quota System
Pakistan Railways will observe the following quota.
Open Merit, 60 percent
Minorities or Non Muslims, 5 percent
Orphans, 5 percent (NADRA death certificate mandatory)
Ex Servicemen, 10 percent
Son of Railway Employees, 20 percent including 2 percent for sons of deceased railway employees
Relevant certificates are mandatory to claim quota benefits.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on the following weightage.
Written Test, 70 percent
Interview, 30 percent
Shortlisted candidates will be called for medical examination, security clearance, and training.
